It is better to give than to receive
Everybody wants to receive gifts and blessings every now and then, but not everybody is open to the idea of giving what they own to others who don't have.
We all have something to give
- Whether it’s making someone smile
- Helping a neighbor out
- Showing up for an issue or people we care about
- Giving some of what we have to those who need our help
Every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to give
- You can give your time
- You can give your warmth and friendship
- You can give a listening ear or a shoulder to lean on
- You can give materially
Reasons to give to charity
- Giving to charity makes you feel good
- Giving to charity strengthens personal values
- Giving to charity introduces your children to the importance of generosity
- Giving to charity encourages friends and family to do the same
- Creates a feeling of gratitude
- Encourages a culture of giving
- Strengthens communities and nations
- Alleviates poverty, struggling and suffering
- Createsa nation of emotionally aware people
- Provides people with the building blocks for their future development
- We become god's channels of blessing

Finally, we must remember that no matter what God has blessed us with financially, (being blessed with much or blessed with little are all still blessings), that it is all from Him, (Psalm 24:1).
We are able to give even in our poverty because it all belongs to God anyways.
